How advertising and sponsorship work here

This site is free to use and is funded by advertising. It also accepts labelled sponsored placements and collaborations with driving schools. This page explains how those are labelled and the rules they follow, so you can always tell our own material from paid material.

How paid material is labelled

  • Ads are marked Advertisement.
  • Sponsored placements are marked Sponsored and name the sponsor.
  • Collaborations with driving schools are marked Partner and name the school.

The label sits on the item itself, not somewhere else on the page.

What sponsors cannot change

Sponsorship never changes our content, questions, data or conclusions. A sponsor or partner cannot buy a place inside a lesson, change an answer or explanation, or have a figure removed.

We do not run sponsored material that shows unsafe road use as normal, or that asks children for personal details.

Personal data

We never sell personal data, to sponsors, partners or anyone else. How advertising uses cookies is explained in the cookie policy and the privacy notice.
